THE ORIGINS

It's been a long road to music for Greg Maness, known as Goodtime Greg. Growing up in Northern Virginia just outside of Washington, DC, Greg was raised on skate and hip-hop culture. 

Listening to Eminem and Rawkus Records, timidly entering freestyle cyphers, but never imagining that music was something that was possible for him. 

After a slew of dead end jobs, therapy, and the Artist Way, Greg dropped his first EP, FINALLY in 2023. He began playing shows in earnest and discovered he hadn't missed his calling, he had slept on it. 

Now residing in Los Angeles, Greg takes inspiration from conscious hip-hop of the 90's – Talib Kweli, Common, Yasiin Bey, as well as the punk rock and emo influences that came later. 

The goal. Honesty. The outcome. Originality.
